WBA World Lightweight Champion Richar Abril says Derry Mathews is out of his depth against him and will get knocked-out when they collide at the Liverpool Echo Arena on Friday 6th March.
Deontay Wilder's brilliant acquisition of the WBC heavyweight championship makes heavyweight boxing a whole new brawl game, both in the ring and outside the ropes.
The WBO have today called for purse bids to be held on Tuesday 27th January for the organisation's world middleweight championship between the title holder Andy Lee and mandatory challenger Billy Joe Saunders.

Saunders stood aside to allow Lee to fight against Russian Matt Korobov for the vacant title on Dec 6th in Las Vegas on the strict understanding - as ratified by the WBO at their convention - that Saunders would be made the mandatory challenger if he defeated Chris Eubank Jnr, then the winner out of Lee and Korobov would have to defend against Saunders next.
Liverpool favourite Tom Stalker makes his big return to the ring on Friday 6th March at the Echo Arena as he looks to get back to winning ways.

Stalker suffered his first career loss to rival Jack Catterall in a brutal battle last October, but has vowed to return stronger than before when he features on the undercard of Liverpool's biggest ever boxing show.
British and Commonwealth Super-Featherweight Champion Liam Walsh and WBO European Super-Middleweight Champion Frank Buglioni have had their challengers confirmed for the huge O2 arena show on Saturday 28th February.

The British hotshots feature as chief support to Tyson Fury's European and WBO International Heavyweight title defence against Christian Hammer and Chris Eubank Jnr's Interim WBA World Middleweight title challenge against Champion Dmitry Chudinov.
Promoter Frank Warren has today announced that he will not be renewing his management and promotional contracts with welterweight boxer Frankie Gavin.

Mr Warren, who signed Gavin in 2008 and he made his professional debut in 2009, guided him to British, Commonwealth and WBO Intercontinental titles in his 22-fight career.
Heavyweight destroyer Christian Hammer has promised to cause a huge upset and derail Tyson Fury from his dream world title fight against Wladimir Klitschko.

The hard-hitting WBO number three ranked challenger takes on Fury at London's O2 arena on Saturday 28th February with the Manchester star risking his unbeaten record, European and WBO International titles and his WBO mandatory spot to Klitschko.
Being knocked unconscious is an unpleasant experience in any sport, whether it is in the ring or on the playing field. We have been hearing a lot about the effects of concussion on rugby players and I believe there is much to be learned from the way boxing deals with the problem of serious head injuries and the possible after-effects.
