Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex last night attended a gala dinner at the London Hilton on Park Lane to help raise funds to find a cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a painful genetic skin blistering condition which, in the worst cases, can be fatal.

The annual gala dinner, organised by DEBRA (the national charity that supports individuals and families living with EB) and boxing promoter Frank Warren (DEBRA Vice President), celebrated an incredible tenth year and after last night will have raised well over £2million for the charity. Named 'The DEBRA Fight Night', the special anniversary was headlined by the British Armed Forces military boxing teams who battled it out head-to-head.
Downsizing has enabled Liam 'The Machine' Williams to move up through the boxing ranks.

A former six time British amateur champion, the 22 year old from Clydach Vale in the Rhondda valley began his pro career in the middleweight division but his decision to streamline last year has taken him to the cusp of a British title challenge down at 11 stone.

The news from America sounds grim. Muhammad Ali, who has been suffering from Parkinson's for almost three decades now, is said to be desperately unwell and according to somefamily members is not expected to live much longer.

When 72-year-old Ali finally passes away it will be one of the saddest blows boxing has ever suffered. No sports figure has been more universally loved.
Ellesmere Port hero Paul Butler put on an action-packed display for shoppers at the Port Arcades Shopping Centre today as he builds towards his star appearance on the big Echo Arena show in Liverpool on Saturday 25th October.

If there is one fight I wanted to promote more than a return between Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho it's the potentially sizzling scrap  between two of the best youngsters in the business – Billy Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank jnr, both unbeaten and threatening to knock bits off each other.

They'll meet for Billy Joe's European and Commonwealth middleweight titles but it's been a real pain in the backside getting this one it together, mainly because dealing with Chris Snr, who acts as his eldest son's manager, mentor and minder,  has been an absolute nightmare. But we've finally got it signed for the ExCel in London on 29 November when heavyweights Dereck Chisora and Tyson will also be spilling a bit of bad blood.
Frank Buglioni aims to reclaim his WBO European Super-Middleweight crown when he takes on Andrew Robinson at the ExCeL London on Saturday 29th November.

Buglioni continues on his comeback against Redditch's unbeaten Robinson on a massive night of boxing headlined by Dereck Chisora's heavyweight showdown against Tyson Fury, live and exclusive on BoxNation.
Scouse ace Kevin Satchell says he and Liverpool can slay the Spaniards in their crucial forthcoming sporting clashes.

Satchell challenges reigning European Flyweight Champion Valery Yanchy, from La Coruna in Spain, for his crown on Saturday 25th October at the Liverpool Echo Arena, and four days earlier Liverpool face giants Real Madrid at home in their first-leg Champions League clash.
I was delighted this week to secure the massive domestic showdown between Billy Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank Jr for my bumper 'Bad Blood' card at the ExCel, London on 29th November. It goes without saying that this was possibly the hardest negotiation process for any fight I have staged in my 30+ year career in boxing! However this was a fight that the fans wanted and we went above and beyond to deliver it. I'm sure everyone is now is looking forward to it taking place on without doubt one of the strongest top to bottom cards to take place in the UK in many years that will air live and exclusive on the Channel of Champions BoxNation (Sky 437/HD 490, Virgin 546 and Talk Talk 525).
Former IBF World Bantamweight Champion Paul Butler will perform a free-to-watch public work-out in his hometown at the Port Arcades Shopping Centre on Saturday 11th October.

The Ellesmere Port hero is building-up for his next big fight at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Saturday 25th October - when he features on a huge multi-title show alongside fellow Merseyside stars Liam Smith, Derry Mathews, Kevin Satchell and Tom Stalker - as he keeps active for a rescheduled world title shot against IBF World Super-Flyweight Champion Zolani Tete.
IBF World Super-Flyweight Champion Zolani Tete has suffered a broken hand and has withdrawn from his title defence against challenger Paul Butler on Saturday 25th October at the Liverpool Echo Arena, but the Ellesmere Port star will still feature on the show.

The South African has broken the second metacarpal in his left hand and a letter from his doctor Peter Chadderton (click here) confirms that he will not be able to fight.
