Tomorrow evening incorrigible sluggers Brandon Rios and Mike Alvarado lock horns again to debate the interim WBO light-welterweight title. Last October, the then unbeaten Latinos shared seven rounds of complete carnage in one of 2012's fights of the year before 'Bam Bam' Rios finally prevailed.
Hot British talent Paul Butler says his stunning KO of Anwar Alfadli has given him a massive lift ahead of his Commonwealth Super-Flyweight title challenge next month. Butler, the British Champion, took his record to 10-0 last Thursday night at London's home of boxing, the York Hall, Bethnal Green, with a punch perfect performance that culminated with an explosive left hook from a southpaw stance that pole-axed Alfadli.

Frank Warren's Column - 23/03/13

Channel Five's declaration that it has 'no plans to show boxing at the moment' was damning news to cauliflower ears this week. Since July 2011, C5 had provided live coverage of shows promoted by hard grafting Londoner Mick Hennessy whose stable includes Tyson Fury, James DeGale and Chris Eubank Jnr. The ratings had been high, particularly for Fury who, at near prime time on a Saturday evening, attracted close to three million viewers for his thrilling victory over Dereck Chisora.
I saw a bit of the first fight and had Abraham winning quite comfortably. He did what he always does; uses his strength, stays composed and marches forward behind a defence that's extremely difficult to penetrate. Stieglitz basically lacked the talent and imagination to penetrate.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen and a warm welcome to the York Hall for Championship Boxing. This evening's main event sees fast-rising star Billy Joe Saunders defend his British and Commonwealth Middleweight titles against Matthew Hall in an exciting showdown of boxer versus puncher.
BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/Virgin Ch. 546) is delighted to welcome Commonwealth Super-Middleweight Champion George Groves back to the Channel Of Champions this Saturday night with LIVE and exclusive coverage in the UK of his fight in Germany.
British and Commonwealth Middleweight Champion Billy Joe Saunders and challenger Matthew Hall both weighed in today for their fight tomorrow night (Thursday 21st March) at London's York Hall. Hatfield ace Saunders hit the scales at 11st 5lbs 7 1/2oz, while Manchester star Hall came in at 11st 5lbs 1/4oz.
Fast climbing welterweight prospect Bradley 'Super' Skeete kick starts his 2013 campaign on Thursday with a maiden defence of his Southern Area title against Peter McDonagh at the York Hall, Bethnal Green.
This promises to be the hardest fight of Matty's career but I seriously believe he's going to win. His preparation has been the best it's ever been. He's trained really hard and he's in great form in the gym. He's had plenty of good sparring with top southpaws like Ryan Aston and Craig Watson. He's ready to do 24 hard rounds, never mind 12.
