It was another great night for British boxing, as Chingford’s Tom Baker headlined the event and made his light-heavyweight debut, with a convincing victory against Belfast’s Darren Cruise. Undefeated ace Baker continued his assault on the division and added to his impressive record, which now stands at 12-0. With performances like this it will surely be a matter of time until the 23-year-old talent announces himself on the international scene.
On a talent-packed undercard, we witnessed Welsh showman Romeo Romaeo score a knockout victory over Ivans Levickis. Romaeo’s aggressive style proved too much for the Latvian to handle and he was counted out in the third round.
Sam McNess proved himself in his debut professional bout and came out ready to attack. The referee was forced to stop fight after only 1:42, McNess could not have asked for a better start to his fledgling career. The local lad will no doubt have the confidence to push on from here and look to take the welterweight division by storm.
