THE 17-1 CRUISERWEIGHT star and Boxxer Tournament winner Ellis Zorro signed a promotional agreement with Frank Warren and Queensberry before swiftly making his first appearance at York Hall in September 2022.

He didn’t have it all his own way against the experienced Dec Spelman but ultimately prevailed on the scorecards over eight rounds. Now he is looking forward to being in title contention.

The 30-year-old is trained and managed by Martin Bowers from the Peacock Gym in Epping alongside now promotional teammates Denzel Bentley, Chris Bourke and Louie Lynn.

A jeweller by trade, Zorro entered the tournament staged in May up in Manchester and cruised to success, beating James Farrell, Jamie Smith and Ricky Reeves via unanimous decisions.

Zorro in December of 2023 took on the widely considered best Cruiserweight in the world, Australian Jai Opetai. Unfortunately for Zorro, Opetai proved to much stopping the Englishman in the first round on the ‘Day of Reckoning.’

He now becomes the most experienced member of the Queensberry cruiserweights, which includes Arnold Obodai, Aloys Junior and Natty Ngwenya.
