OUTSTANDING AMATEUR AND seven-time national champion Henry Turner is now 10-0 in the professional ranks and a proud holder of the WBC International Silver super lightweight title.

The 22-year-old from near Amersham spent all bar one year of his amateur stint at the Repton Boxing Club, having joined at the age of 12. His roll of honour includes becoming Minors National champion, Schoolboy National champion, twice Junior ABA champion, NABC champion, GB Schoolboy champion, GB Junior champion, European Junior gold medallist, European Schoolboy quarter-finalist, six-times London champion and four-times International Box Cup winner.

Turner’s amateur tenure spanned 60 fights, of which he lost only four. He describes himself as a southpaw counter-puncher and campaigns professionally at super lightweight, training out of the Queensberry iBox Gym in Bromley.

The journey began in December 2019 when Turner defeated Naheem Chaudry over four rounds in a classy display and then again showed his quality with his outpointing of Daryl Pearce in February 2020.

He swiftly moved up to six rounds in his fourth fight and in March 2022, scored his first stoppage victory with a halting of Ivan Njegac in three rounds at Wembley. In July 2022 he got another six rounder under his belt by outpointing Jakub Laskowski, again at Wembley.

His maiden title success was achieved in Dubai with a spectacular stoppage of Jorge Abel Bermudez in November 2022 and the belt was emphatically retained in February of this year when Zeus de Armas was stopped in the seventh round at York Hall.
